After qualifying as a teacher and helping teens excel, everything she knew about teaching changed when Sabina became a mum.

What She Saw
The children who excelled weren’t the ones going to school and studying for hours. The most successful students were not the ones getting the most tuition, and working solo, they were the ones whose parents were engaged — whose parents were supportive, stayed connected and worked alongside their kids as well as their teachers.
It didn’t matter if a child was on the SEND register or not — what mattered was the parent’s presence.
Because when parents understood their child’s struggles everything changed.

ABOUT SABINA BASHIR
When it comes to making a real difference in the lives of children and families, Sabina Bashir is a passionate educator and international best selling co-author of the Catalysts of Change with over 25 years of classroom experience.
She’s also a teacher, tutor, mum of 3, mindset coach and the founder of The Parent-Teacher.
What makes Sabina unique? After leaving a career in engineering, she trained as a secondary school teacher—but quickly realised too many teens were slipping through the cracks without basic reading and writing skills.
That moment changed everything. Determined to make a bigger impact earlier in a child’s journey, she retrained as a primary school teacher.
Over the next three decades, she taught thousands of children—from SATs to 11+ to GCSEs exams—while raising three children of her own.
Her older two thrived in mainstream education and went on to corporate careers. But her youngest daughter struggled with anxiety, became a school refuser, and was eventually homeschooled following a serious accident and surgery.
Seven years later, that same child—now 14—is preparing to publish her debut novel, The Forbidden Bloodline. (Read more here).
This not only gives hope to parents nervous about starting their home-education journey, but also shows that traditional schooling doesn’t work for every child.
